MODULE 01
Launch your Shopify store correctly
-
Choose a product and audience: Define the customer, problem, differentiator, price and margin.
-
Configure Shopify: Choose a suitable plan, connect a domain, select a fast mobile-friendly theme and establish your branding.
-
Build the structure: Home → Collections → Products, with About, Contact, Shipping, Returns and Privacy pages.
-
Add products: Enter accurate titles, variants, SKUs, inventory, prices, dimensions and original images.
-
Configure commerce: Set payment providers, taxes, shipping zones, shipping rates and fulfillment workflows.
-
Test everything: Run a test checkout, inspect mobile pages, verify transactional emails and check policy links.
-
Launch: Remove the storefront password when ready and confirm products are published to the Online Store sales channel.
Technique: Launch with a focused catalog and a clear hero product rather than making customers choose between dozens of unrelated items.
MODULE 02
Find keywords that attract buyers
Separate keywords by what the searcher wants to accomplish.
-
Transactional: “buy leather crossbody bag” → Product page.
-
Commercial investigation: “best crossbody bag for travel” → Buying guide or relevant collection.
-
Category: “women's leather crossbody bags” → Collection page.
-
Informational: “how to clean leather handbags” → Helpful blog guide.
Free research workflow:
- List 10 product and category seed terms.
- Use Google autocomplete and related searches to discover phrasing.
- Check Google Trends for seasonality and regional interest.
- Inspect the current search results: Are they product pages, collections, videos or articles?
- Use Search Console data when your site begins receiving impressions.
- Map one primary search intent to each important URL.
Prioritization: Start with relevant terms you can satisfy exceptionally well. A low-volume, high-intent query can be more useful than a broad keyword with enormous competition.
MODULE 03
Technical SEO and indexability
- Verify your store in Google Search Console.
- Submit your Shopify sitemap, normally
/sitemap.xml.
- Use URL Inspection to check priority products and collections.
- Confirm important pages are indexable and publicly accessible.
- Check for accidental noindex directives and unnecessary duplicate URLs.
- Use descriptive navigation labels and internal links.
- Review canonical tags, especially for product variants and collection-linked product URLs.
- Check broken links, redirect old URLs after meaningful URL changes, and avoid redirect chains.
- Audit mobile performance and Core Web Vitals.
- Validate product structured data and review Google Merchant Center eligibility.
Performance targets: Aim for LCP ≤ 2.5 seconds, INP ≤ 200 ms and CLS ≤ 0.1 at the 75th percentile of real-user measurements. These are user-experience targets, not ranking guarantees.
MODULE 04
Optimize product pages for Google
Every important product page should accurately describe the product and satisfy a clear search intent.
EXAMPLE PRODUCT: LEATHER CROSSBODY BAG
SEO TITLE:
Women's Leather Crossbody Bag | Brand Name
META DESCRIPTION:
Explore a compact leather crossbody bag with an adjustable strap, secure zipper and everyday storage. View dimensions, colors and shipping details.
H1:
Women's Leather Crossbody Bag
IMAGE FILE:

IMAGE ALT:
Black leather crossbody bag with adjustable strap and gold zipper
- Write a unique, descriptive title for the product.
- Use one clear product H1 and useful subheadings.
- Describe materials, sizing, fit, features, intended use and care.
- Use original product photography and demonstrations.
- Write natural image alt text describing the actual image.
- Link to relevant collections, complementary products and buying guides.
- Ensure Product and Offer structured data reflects real price and availability.
- Check that review markup only represents genuine eligible reviews.
Alt-text rule: Describe the image for someone who cannot see it. Don't stuff the same keyword into every photo. Decorative images generally need empty alt text.
MODULE 05
Turn product detail pages into sales
SEO brings potential customers to your store. PDP optimization helps them make an informed buying decision.
HIGH-CONVERTING PDP STRUCTURE
1. Clear product title and main image
2. Benefit-led headline
3. Price, variants and availability
4. Visible Add to Cart button
5. Short demonstration video
6. Three specific product benefits
7. Materials, sizing and specifications
8. Real customer reviews, if available
9. Shipping and return information
10. Frequently asked questions
11. Relevant bundle or cross-sell
12. Mobile checkout testing
Example copy transformation:
Weak: “Premium bag with adjustable strap.”
Better: “Carry your phone, wallet and daily essentials in one compact crossbody bag—with an adjustable strap and zippered main compartment.”
- Place the most important information above the fold on mobile.
- Show the product in use and communicate realistic benefits.
- Make shipping costs, delivery expectations and returns easy to find.
- Use clear, accessible buttons and variant selectors.
- Test bundles only when they offer meaningful value.
- Investigate drop-offs using Shopify Analytics and session recordings.
- Run controlled tests where traffic allows, measuring conversion and contribution margin.
MODULE 06
Build content that earns search traffic
Don't publish 100 generic AI articles. Build a small network of original resources around real customer questions.
- Create one comprehensive buying guide for a core category.
- Publish supporting comparison and how-to articles.
- Add original demonstrations, photos, measurements or firsthand observations.
- Link guides to relevant collections and product pages.
- Link product pages back to helpful educational content when appropriate.
- Repurpose articles into short-form videos and useful email content.
- Update articles when products, specifications or customer questions change.

COMMERCIAL DESTINATION:

PRODUCT DESTINATION:

Technique: Build links that genuinely help shoppers navigate. Google uses site links and structure to understand important ecommerce pages.
MODULE 07
Measure, diagnose and scale organic growth
Use a weekly scorecard that connects SEO performance to actual business results.
-
Search Console: Organic clicks, impressions, queries, indexing and page performance.
-
GA4: Organic sessions, engaged sessions and ecommerce events.
-
Shopify Analytics: Orders, conversion rate, AOV and revenue.
-
Merchant Center: Product feed health and listing eligibility.
-
Clarity: Session behavior, scroll patterns and friction points.
-
Finance: Gross margin, variable costs, contribution and refunds.
Diagnose with this decision tree:
NO IMPRESSIONS?
→ Check indexing, relevance and site links.
IMPRESSIONS BUT FEW CLICKS?
→ Improve titles, relevance and search presentation.
CLICKS BUT FEW ADD-TO-CART EVENTS?
→ Investigate product fit, pricing, content and PDP UX.
ADD-TO-CART BUT FEW ORDERS?
→ Check shipping surprises, checkout friction and trust.
ORDERS BUT LOW CONTRIBUTION?
→ Revisit pricing, fulfillment, discounts and costs.
Important: Rankings and organic traffic are not the ultimate business KPI. Measure qualified visits, orders, revenue and contribution together.
